In April 2011, The Florida Department of Health declared Prescription Drug Misuse and Abuse a Public Health Emergency for the state of Florida. Central Florida Behavioral Health Network and The Department of Children and Families is dedicated to ongoing efforts to increase awareness of the growing prescription drug epidemic throughout the SunCoast Region of Florida. CFBHN’s Network Providers, Community Coalitions, and other community stakeholders are committed to making this issue a priority in program development and data-driven, community based efforts to reduce the impacts of prescription drug misuse and abuse on SunCoast Region Communities.
