Resiliency and Recovery
CFBHN in conjunction with the Florida Department of Children and Families are promoting the transformation toward recovery and resiliency. Recovery and Resiliency Task Forces have been developed in Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Desoto Counties. The purpose of the task forces is to promote recovery based services by exploring resources in the community and mental health system. The Consumer Affairs Director provides training on peer support and Wellness Recovery Action Planning. For more information on Recovery and Resiliency, click here.

Workforce Development

Under the direction of Dr. Robert Nixon, Community Director, an Employee Satisfaction/Stress Survey has been developed and implemented.  Participation is open to all Network agencies.  The results of the survey will be used to improve overall agency operations.  The data collected will allow agencies to benchmark results from other agencies’ results, identifying  best practices to improve employee morale and retention.

CFBHN Highlights

CFBHN continues to participate in the NIATx Strengthening Treatment Access and Retention State Implementation grant (STAR-SI), a national program funded by SAMHSA CSAT and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  The goals of the grant are to increase access and retention for individuals seeking substance abuse treatment.

Six Network agencies have participated in the grant.  DACCO reduced admission paperwork by 50% and Manatee Glens increased the number of admissions from detox to outpatient by over 30%.  The Harbor Behavioral Healthcare Institute has seen a 50% increase in the number of admissions from detox to outpatient. ACTS continues to increase referrals to their outpatient program following detox. Following the grant completion, CFBHN plans to develop a learning collaborative to teach the improvement process and develop a systematic improvement process.
